FAQ's

Where are you based and how far do you travel?
I’m based in Worcestershire in the Midlands, UK. Just outside of Birmingham.
I regularly photograph weddings across the Midlands, including Birmingham, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. I also travel further afield to areas like Oxfordshire, Bristol, Somerset, the Peak District, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Northumberland, London and the South East, as well as Scotland and Wales.
Travel within 25 miles of B60 is included, additional mileage is charged at 0.50pm and I’m always happy to travel across the UK, especially northern and Scotlish Weddings. I also take on destination weddings internationally, just drop me a message for a bespoke quote.
Can I use the photos for social media and marketing materials?
This depends on the licence included with your booking.
Weddings are delivered with a personal usage licence, allowing you to share your images freely on social media and for personal use. If you require images for commercial purposes, such as advertising, branding, or resale, an additional commercial licence may be required. I'm happy to discuss this in more detail based on your specific needs.
For branding/commercial shoot's all of this is discussed in advance to find out what suits your needs!
What is your process for working with brands?
This will largely depend on the needs of your shoot!
If you're looking to create content for your brand but aren’t quite sure on the creative direction yet, I can support you with mood boards and concept planning to help shape your vision. If you already have a clear idea, we’ll jump straight into bringing it to life.
The initial consultation is completely free, and once you're booked in, you'll have access to upto 3 planning sessions to get everything just right.
Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Travel within 25 miles of B60 is included in all packages.
For locations beyond this radius, travel is charged at £0.50 per mile to cover fuel and time. I’ll always confirm any additional costs during our initial consultation so there are no surprises.
Destination Weddings will be worked out accordingly.
How many photographers will be there at the wedding?
All packages include one photographer, myself.
I work solo to provide a consistent, personalised experience. However, if you'd like a second photographer for wider coverage, this can be arranged at an additional cost. Pricing varies based on the availability of trusted professionals whose style complements the aesthetic you're after.
All images, whether captured by me or a second shooter, are carefully edited by me to ensure a cohesive final gallery. That said, depending on which second photographer joins us, you may be lucky enough to receive an additional gallery in their unique style as a bonus treat.
How long does it take to get all the photos?
Averagely it takes me 6-8 weeks to edit all the photos and send them to you. Sometimes this can be more or less depending on the season. I recommend 12 weeks during peak seasons. However, you will be informed about the timing in advance.
What kind of weddings do you specialise in?
Alternative weddings with a strong sense of identity and atmosphere. That includes gothic, dark romantic, fantasy, celestial and witchy aesthetics, as well as medieval or non-traditional styling. I work with a lot of queer couples and neurodivergent couples and I’m very conscious of creating a calm, low pressure experience rather than something overly performative.
I also specialise in non-traditional ceremony structures, handfastings, elopements, registry weddings followed by personal celebrations, or days that don’t follow a typical timeline.
If your wedding feels a bit unconventional, emotionally driven, or more about the vibe than tradition, that’s exactly what I do.
What’s it like to work with you if we’re a bit camera shy?
Most of my couples feel like this, so you’re not alone.
I don’t expect you to know how to pose or perform. I use prompts and gentle direction to help you settle into things naturally, so it feels more like you’re just spending time together rather than being watched or staged.
I also read the room. If you need space, slower pacing, or a quieter approach, I adjust to you. There’s no pressure to be “on” all day.
The goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to forget the camera is there, that’s when the best photos happen.
How do you balance documentary and editorial photography?
The day itself is approached in a documentary way, I’m capturing real moments as they happen without staging or interrupting.
The editorial side isn’t limited to portraits, it runs through everything. It comes from how I shoot, the angles I choose, how I use light, how I position myself in a space, and how I frame moments as they unfold. It’s also in the edit, with a darker, moodier, more polished finish that gives the whole gallery a cohesive, cinematic feel.
So even your candid moments still have that intentional, editorial quality, while staying completely real and unforced.
What is Dark Wedding Collective, and how is it connected to your work?
Dark Wedding Collective is a community first platform I co-founded for alternative couples and suppliers.
It brings together photographers, venues and creatives who specialise in darker, non-traditional and more expressive weddings, making it easier to find suppliers who genuinely fit your vision.
It’s separate from my photography bookings, but closely aligned with what I do. The same values run through both, inclusivity, creativity, and creating space for people who don’t feel represented in the mainstream wedding industry.
Being part of it also means I’m well connected within the alternative wedding scene, so I can recommend like minded suppliers if you need help building a team around a similar vibe.
