There’s something about dark fairytale-inspired styling that always works beautifully in wedding photography, especially when it leans more atmospheric than theatrical.

This editorial shoot, created alongside Sira Rose Makeup, took inspiration from Beauty & the Beast in a way that felt textured, romantic, dramatic and slightly untamed without losing the emotional softness at the centre of the story. Candlelight, rich colours, historic details, layered fabrics, and that balance between darkness and warmth all came together perfectly throughout the shoot.

Rather than recreating characters directly, the focus was more on capturing the feeling of a darker fairytale romance through movement, styling, atmosphere, and emotion. The result felt cinematic in the best possible way, somewhere between gothic romance, fantasy storytelling and alternative bridal inspiration.

Shoots like this are always a reminder that wedding inspiration doesn’t have to follow tradition to feel timeless.
