So, you’re engaged? And you’re on the hunt for an alternative wedding photographer! First things first, a HUGE congratulations!
No matter which direction you’re heading, I’m here to help. I’ve been there, done that, and got the t-shirt to prove it. If you’ve read my about me section titled "my journey", you’ll know my own wedding planning came with its fair share of horror stories.
That’s why I do what I do now. I know how important it is to have a photographer who doesn’t just turn up, take a few staged photos, and leave. You deserve someone who listens, gets it, and tells your story the way it deserves to be told.
This isn’t about forcing you into awkward poses or interrupting your day. It’s about capturing what’s already happening; The real emotions, the laughter, the tears and turning those moments into something you’ll want to keep looking back on.
What is Alternative Wedding Photography?
Let’s be real, not everyone wants the same old wedding photos. If you’re here, I’m guessing you’re not the type who wants stiff poses and staged moments. For me, alternative wedding photography is about capturing your day as it happens but with a creative eye. I’m there to catch the real moments, but I’m also framing them in a way that feels elevated.
You get all the raw emotions, but I’m bringing a creative, editorial approach to how they’re presented. In other words, I’ll make the ordinary feel like art. Your images will have that relaxed, natural feeling, but with a polished, stylish look that you’d expect from an editorial spread.
Here’s what I do:
- I don’t tell you to stand a certain way or hold a pose (unless this is what you really want.) Instead I give guided prompts that we can have fun with.
- I move quietly and quickly; so I don’t interrupt your day, but I’m always watching, making sure I capture all those moments usually missed.
- I frame and compose your photos to show the feeling of the moment.
What to Expect?

1.Fill out the form
You fill out the contact form or drop me an email. I’ll reply as soon as I can (usually within a day or two but please allow up to 7 days during peak season.) If you still haven't heard from me by then then please check your spam folder or give me a text/call.

2.Complimentary Consultation
If you’re interested, we’ll set up a call or meet in person (if possible). We’ll talk about what you’re planning, what matters to you, and whether I’m the right fit. No pressure, just a chance to chat.
3.Booking Confirmation
Once you’re ready to book, I’ll send you a contract and a deposit invoice to lock in your date. I’ll keep things simple, no jargon or complicated terms.
When thats sorted, you'll receive your client guide full of tips and tricks to help you with your wedding planning process (my communication stays open too, i'm here for you as much as you need me!)
4.Before The Wedding
I’ll stay in touch with you as you plan. We’ll talk about timings, any must have photos, and anything else you think I should know. The main bulk of this is done is a pre-wedding consultation done around 6-8 weeks before your wedding date. I’ll make sure I’ve got all the details so you don’t have to worry about the photography side.
5.ON THE DAY
I’ll arrive at a time that suits your timeline, camera in hand, ready to get involved. I’m there to help keep things running smoothly, chatting with guests, helping where needed, and giving gentle prompts for portraits. But when it’s time to step back, I disappear into the background, capturing moments as they happen without drawing attention. You’ll get a mix of natural, candid shots and more guided moments, all without the day feeling interrupted.
6.After The Wedding
I’ll get working hard on your gallery to get you high-quality photos that you can be proud of. You’ll be able to access everything through your password protected online gallery and download the images at your pleasure. Once you’ve had a good look through, we can chat about any prints or wedding albums you might want.
